Julie Clark, Senior Vice President of Business Analytics for Peerless Technologies, on Tuesday, July 23, was working closely with Jerry Tritle, SVP of Business Development. Nearby, Peerless President Michael Bridges coordinated with CFO Andrea Kunk and Mindy Waldren, Contracts & Pricing VP, to provide support for Tritle and Clark.
But this wasn’t the Peerless Executive Conference Room – Bridges and Kunk were loading gravel into a wheelbarrow; Waldren was wheeling; Clark was tamping the gravel in a trench for a retaining wall while Tritle wielded a shovel at a Habitat for Humanity project to provide a new home for a deserving local family.
Business as usual for a corporate leadership team? Yes, actually – at least for Peerless.
“Partnering with organizations like Habitat for Humanity is important to our support for the community,” said Kunk, who also serves as vice president of the board for the Fairborn Development Corporation. “Habitat’s motto is ‘a hand up, not a handout’ and we love the opportunity to help.”
While the wall team was moving gravel and 60-pound concrete blocks, Kurt Harendza, SVP of Innovation and Research, and Bob Goodman, SVP of Corporate Support & Strategic Markets, were on ladders hammering away. Irv Ramirez, SVP of Information Services & Solutions, carried out an armload of construction debris, then headed back for more.
In 2018, the Peerless sponsored a Habitat for Humanity project in Fairborn next door to the one Peerless executives were working on Tuesday – the neatly painted home a testament to Peerless’ commitment to creating a stronger community and supporting the people who live in it.
“We could not do our mission without our volunteers,” said Norm Miozzi, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton. “I want to express a big ‘thank you’ to Peerless.”
